The Palace and its history

From tower-house to elegant palace

The Palace was born in the Middle Ages as a tower-house, a symbol of the powerful families of the time. Over the centuries it became a noble residence: layers of history still legible in the friezes, the vaults and the decorative apparatus.

  1. Middle Ages

    The origins

Born as a tower-house, a stronghold of the great city families.

  2. Renaissance

    The noble palace

Mergers and unions transform it into a palace, with reception rooms and exposed timber ceilings.

  3. Over the centuries

    The pictorial apparatus

Frescoes and decoration of great value accumulate, from the medieval taste to the late nineteenth century.

  4. Today

    The restoration

A careful conservative restoration returns the Palace to its splendour, uniting history with contemporary comforts.

The Palace and its frescoes

A snapshot across the centuries

A treasure chest of riches kept hidden by time. From the main entrance, the great barrel-vaulted loggia embraces the majestic staircase of honour, finely decorated. Within, decorations and frescoes follow one another, spanning from the Middle Ages to the late twentieth century.

The Palace and its restoration

Living history with modern comforts

The interiors are designed for today's most demanding living needs: large halls with excellent natural light, vast rooms and frescoed chambers alternating with functional bathrooms and reception spaces.

The common areas will be restored and finished to the same quality as the apartments and equipped with high-technology systems. Entering from the main entrance, one is welcomed by a wide barrel-vaulted atrium with lunettes, finely decorated, with a Venetian terrazzo floor.

Throughout the restoration, distinctive finishes have been adopted, with careful study devoted to the choice and combination of materials, in the name of functionality and lasting durability.
